St.Ann's Academy

St.Ann's Academy is one of my favourite sites in Victoria. Such a great spot to enjoy the cities historic beauty, soak up some sun while reading a book, or even bring a first date on a casual picnic. It is also host to some great events such as the Creatively United for the Planet Festival and V.I.C Fest.  Here are a couple shots I took when I was there earlier in the week.

Victoria International Buskers Festival

From July 19th to July 28th, 2013 we will once again be home to one of the world’s most unique street theatre festivals! Buskers from around the world will converge in Victoria and present ten days of performances on event stages along our Inner Harbour and in Bastion Square. Additional daily lunch time performances will also be presented at the Bay Centre!

Victoria Street Food Festival

Victoria’s best Food Carts and Street Vendors gather in the heart of the city to celebrate the city’s top food carts and food artisans. VSFF is a VIC FEST and TECTORIA Presentation.
The food truck revolution is upon us! Major cities around the globe are seeing an astonishing rise in Food Trucks and Street Vendors offering up creative and interesting foods to locals and visitors alike! Victoria is on the map as a destination city for the food savvy so let’s embrace the ever growing culture and celebrate it within the heart of our beautiful city. This will be a free family friendly event featuring a 19+ beverage garden and the addition of live local music. The Victoria Street Food Festival July 19th & 26th, 2013. The festivities kick off at 11:00am and end at 8:00pm.

Island Farms Victoria Day Parade

Celebrate Victoria Day at the 115th annual Island Farms Victoria Day Parade! Look for Daisy and Farmer Vicki and the Island Farms float at the city’s largest parade event, complete with marching bands, floats and more. The parade starts from Mayfair Shopping Centre at 9:00am and proceeds along Douglas Street, finishing downtown at the intersection of Douglas & Humboldt

Creatively United for the Planet April 19th-21st

The second annual Creatively United for the Planet Earth Week Festival will be held rain or shine, indoors and outdoors and feature on-going free entertainment, music by amazing local performers, displays by incredible artists, schools, community groups and businesses, art making, children’s activities, food, plus a super-fun DJ dance party, participation by the Victoria Earth Walk, costumes and much more.

Guest artists include: The Gettin’ Higher Choir with Holly Artnzen and Kevin Wright, Roland Barrett, Jim Moffat, Brad Prevederos, Ronda Rozon and many others.
